The other day as I was rummaging through the channels I came across a documentary on the Chameleon on the national geographic channel. I was mesmerized by this creature and its amazing characteristics to camouflage according to its surroundings. It made me wonder that although this reptile due to its nature has been deemed deceptive but this isn’t just a negative quality it’s actually a very positive quality. Don’t agree? Imagine yourself in a party where you do not find anyone of your interest. You are uncomfortable at the place and make others around you uncomfortable by your alien attitude. Wouldn’t it be better that although you don’t find anyone of your interest, you adapt, make yourself at home and make everyone around you comfortable and maybe enjoy yourself in the process. Not bad Right!
Same can be said about people who suffer from acne. Acne scars are so visible on the face that not only do you loose your confidence you make the others around you uncomfortable and that plays its part in piling up the misery for you. You don’t want their sympathy; you want to be treated as a normal human being. So act like it, the following are some of the things that you can do during your treatment. These are not must do rules but if applied they can make the healing process less disturbing.
The treatment itself:
Treating your acne is essential while you camouflage it because no matter what you do in terms of hiding it whether it be make up or any other thing, if you are not treating your acne scars with whatever treatment that your dermatologist or specialist has suggested you are going to lose in the longer run. This is because too much make up would not only take its time and money, but it could be taxing to your already suffering skin. So you have to be persistent with your treatment no matter how long it takes.
The Makeup:
There are a number of companies that make acne and acne scars make up. These are great tools to hide your acne scars and to get your confidence back on track. It is advisable though that you check out from your dermatologist about what kind of skin you have and what type of make up (oil based, water based etc) would be suitable for you.
The Attitude:
All the great agents that have served in the war as undercover agents have confirmed that it is not the disguise that helps you deceive but the attitude and confidence with which you carry yourself, that is the key to being successful. You must be thinking what has this got to do with you? Well it does. No amount of make up could hide your acne scars unless your confident from within. Whatever deformity the makeup has left you must be able to camouflage it with your attitude. Remember, people see what you show them. So show them your radiant personality not your acne scars.
The Big Heart:
Acne treatments tend to take a lot of time to kick in. So it is important that you be patient when you tackle the problem. Don’t let it get you down or bother you. Face it with your chin up. Joke about it. Being positive would not only help you in your confidence but will prove as a catalyst in your road to recovery.
